South Korean Prime Minister Chung U-chan met with visiting UAE Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi at his office in Seoul on Wednesday and discussed cooperation ties in military field and ways of boosting them.Lt. Gen. Al Rumaithi arrived in Seoul on Feb, 22 at the invitation of South Korean Minister of National Defence Kim Tae-young and also met with Minister Kim on Tuesday to discuss issues of mutual concern in military areas. Earlier on Tuesday in a welcoming ceremony held at the Ministry, Lt. Gen. Al Rumaithi inspected an honor guard of South Korean Armed Forces along with Minister Kim.
Local media has given prominent coverage to his meeting with South Korean Defence Minister with focus on what they described as a quite exceptional welcoming ceremony with an honour guard review in honour of visiting Lt. Gen. Al Rumaithi and his delegation who also visited South Korean Special Operation Forces Headquarters or Korean version of Green Beret.
