The UAE Navy is now securing its military supplies from local manufacturers, according to Naval Forces Commander, Major General Ahmed Mohammed Al Tinaiji. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) yesterday, Al Tinaiji said the UAE Navy had struck a strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Ship Building Company "ADSB".ADSB is building six Baynouna naval vessels in collaboration with the French CMN, Al Tinaiji said. The first vessel, he noted, will be built in France while the remaining five will be manufactured in the UAE. The first vessel will be commissioned in 2009.
